The purpose of the School Uniform Policy is to provide additional
opportunities for increased school safety, to encourage our students
to experience a greater sense of school identity and belonging, to
encourage an improvement in student behavior, to encourage a
high level of program participation, to improve and expand academic
excellence, and to raise expectation about students’ appearance.
Girls are required to wear Khaki(Tan) pants/cargo shorts with a
white collared long/short sleeve polo shirt with black shoes or
sneakers. Skirts must be 1 inch above the knee level.
Boys are required to wear Khaki(Tan) pants/cargo shorts with a
white collared long/short sleeve polo shirt with black shoes or
sneakers.
Families who require support to purchase the uniform, may see Ms.
Afgan, the Parent Coordinator.
This policy will be in effect on the first day of school, which is
September 8, 2011. We expect every
student to adhere to it.
Violation of Uniform Policy
Students who are not in compliance with the uniform policy will face
the following consequences:
First Offense - Student will be will be verbally warned as well a
receive an immediate phone call from student’s guidance counselor
to a parent or guardian.
Second Offense - Student will be verbally warned as well as
receive an immediate phone call from student’s guidance counselor
to a parent or guardian with an accompanying letter to their home.
Third Offense - Student will attend a mandatory Parent meeting
along with student’s guidance counselor.
Fourth Offense - Student may face disciplinary actions
Fifth Offense - Student will receive an IN House Suspension.
A persistent violation of the August Martin Uniform Policy as
established by the school’s administration will lead to a school’s
principal meeting with student’s parents/guardian.
