August Martin High School addresses the needs of its students, encouraging success in the
academics, nurturing individual differences, making available programs and resources to meet
individual needs.   Extra and co-curricula activities are provided so that students will develop a
comprehensive range of abilities necessary for successful participation in our society.   Students will
be encouraged to become lifelong learners.  When August Martin High School was opened in 1971,
it was dedicated to the spirit of a young aviator who overcame many obstacles and gained success
in his career while losing his life in an
attempt to help his fellow men.

Our Vision
This high school is dedicated to the ideals embodied by August Martin and provides quality
education which meets the needs of all students to live rich and productive lives in a multicultural,
democratic society.  Our school encourages the growth and development of every student and
provides them with the ability to soar - to fly!  Parents will be encouraged to become active
participants in the learning process and will be encouraged to work collaboratively with school staff in
the education of August Martin students.
