Parent Coordinator
Nadege Trenard Afgan
Dear Parents, Guardians and Teachers:
For three years, I had the privilege to serve the families and the students of August
Martin High School as it’s PTA elected 1st Vice-President and its Title I Parent
Advisory Council Chairperson. It is my honor to serve now as your Parent
Coordinator. To those who may not know me, I would like to take a moment of your
time to formally introduce myself.
My name is Mrs. Nadége Trènard Afgan, a current parent of an August Martin High
School student and a new member of the school’s support staff.
As part of my first initial goals for August Martin student success, I would like to build
a strong partnership between all stakeholders, parents, teachers, staff, and the
community.
My theme for this school year is “Parents as Partners in Improving Academic
Achievement”. This was a theme used by Dr. Cashin a year ago and I thought it was
very appropriate. It is a theme that speaks to the necessary partnership that must be
fostered between parents and our school in order to improve and enhance student
achievement.
Therefore, parental involvement is an integral part of student success. This year will
be a positive example of the changes that are possible when we take an active role in
educating our children. I welcome any suggestions and comments that you may have
that will enable me to accomplish the task at hand.
Furthermore, on behalf of the Parents and Guardians of August Martin High School, I
want to thank all the August Martin staff and teachers for their invaluable work and
efforts for our children. The care and dedication that they show each and every day
brightens our school in every way.
We appreciate the important part that they play. Please accept the thanks we warmly
convey.
To the parents and guardians of August Martin High School, The staff and I would like
to thank you for your help and dedicated support. We, the staff welcome any
suggestions and concern that you may have.
Remember we cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth
for the future.
Parents, if you have any concerns, suggestions or just would like to get involved, I can
be reached at Ext: 117.
Thank You
Sincerely,
Mrs. Nadège Trénard Afgan,
