Welcome to the Foreign Language Department
Janice Henry, Assistant Principal
The Foreign Language Department aspires to enable all students to
communicate proficiently in a second language of instruction. Our classes
provide students with an opportunity to experience the value gained by
studying a second language. We hope to provide each student with a
unique understanding to other people and their cultures. Through
language we can embrace the world around us, express our concerns and
dreams, and share our experiences and ideas.
Language is our connection to our community and the world.
Proficiency in a second language provides students with access to the
global society. It is our goal to have our students communicating in a
target language with a sense of excellence, direction and purpose that will
provide them with opportunities for success in the global economy.
We offer French, Italian and Spanish courses that follow the state syllabus
and meet the Advanced Regents Diploma requirement.
